Foxy Ladies

A few years ago, it could have been a decade, my sense of time is lousy, Rolling Stone Magazine had its one hundredth issue. To commemorate this auspicious achievement the magazine printed a poster in the anniversary issue that showed all one hundred covers starting with the first one in 1967 featuring a publicity shot of John Lennon from the film How I Won The War. What I found interesting was that from time to time musicians stopped gracing the cover and gave way to film and TV actors. A quick survey showed that Linda Ronstadt was the number one top female cover girl and Richard Gere was the top cover male. The 1970s had mostly actor and comedians on the covers while the Eighties saw the return of the rock star.
Thinking about this along with recently hearing the song Baby, It’s You by the band Smith which was fronted by a great looking blonde, prompted me to submit the following Top Ten List of the hottest women of rock & roll. In no particular order they are:

1. Linda Ronstadt

2. Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane)

3. Debbie Harry (Blondie)

4. Pat Benatar

5. Ann Wilson (Heart)

6. Lita Ford (The Runaways)

7. Nancy Wilson (Heart)

8.  Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac)

9. Susie Piper (The Pipers)

10. Gayle McCormick (Smith)

I didn’t include all female bands such as the Go Gos, The Bangles or Vixen as there are too many individual beauties to count although I did include Lita Ford because she also had a solo career and is exceptional looking.
